New Gotham is a nonprofit hub dedicated toward connecting coffee professionals and enthusiasts throughout the Chicago Coffee Community and beyond. We seek to support our members through social, educational and competitive events in open and safe environments that remain accessible to all.
As a group, we are not affiliated with any specific company, nor do we exist for the purposes of financial gain, but rather to build a network of individuals interested in raising the profile of Chicago Coffee as a whole.
New Gotham Coffee Community was formed in 2012 as a way of uniting the Chicago professional coffee community as whole. Through open invite latte art throwdowns, educational classes hosted by varying coffee roasters, and open forums to discuss the community as a whole, the demand for accessible and wide ranging events was present. In 2014, New Gotham became an officially recognized nonprofit. Now, New Gotham aims to continue the calling it was founded on while building new avenues to enrich Chicago Coffee as a whole.
